What is Fusion Flex??

Before we discuss Fusion Flex...
Did you know the average person gains seven pounds between Thanksgiving and the New Year? Granted most people then lose an average of five pounds shortly thereafter. This is still an increase of 2 pounds in a year. If every year you gain two pounds, you will find yourself 20 pounds heavier in ten years.

This is one of the many reason Canton Club is hosting the 30 Day Challenge during this time period! We want you to stay fit and if nothing else, maintain your weight this holiday season.

What is Fusion Flex?

Fusion Flex is a strength training class. The format of the class is three rounds, each round nine minutes long and composed of three compound moves. Compound moves are those which utilize more than one muscle group at a time.

Example Moves
  • Squats with bicep curls
  • Planks with Rows
  • Overhead tricep extension with a lunge

During the class you will hit every muscle in your body and will also keep your heart rate in the aerobic zone!

If you plan to be active for life, you need to practice yoga. The benefits of yoga are endless. To name a few, yoga
  • Improves muscle tone, strength, flexibility and stamina
  • Aids in injury prevention
  • Reduces physical/mental stress and tension
  • Improves concentration
  • Reduces body fat
  • Stimulates the immune system
  • Improves circulation
  • Creates a sense of well being

To complete the challenge you have to go to one Air Yoga class and two classes in the Mind/Body Zone. You will get a taste of Canton Club's yoga program. But don't stop there, OVERINDULGE! Try yoga with all of instructors, Cecilia, David, Anita, Christina, and Brandie. Each instructor offers a unique approach to yoga. Make it a long term goal to incorporate yoga into your fitness regimen at least twice per month. For beginners, we do offer Yoga for Beginners every Tuesday at 6 pm.

After you have practiced, I guarantee "the theory will be obvious".

I am so excited to announce we have about 130 people signed up for the challenge. I am very impressed that we have so many members at Canton Club who are committed to seeing results. In 30 days from now, you are going to see a fitter you when you look in the mirror! It won't come easy, but it will happen.

On Thanksgiving Day, the regularly scheduled classes will be cancelled. However, we will have two classes.
  • 9 am Cycling for 75 Min. w/Kristy I.
  • 9 am Hard Core for 90 Min w/ Me

On Friday, we have a lot of classes for you!

  • 530 am, 8 am, and 630 pm cycling
  • 9 am Flex
  • 10 am Butt, Guts, and Cardio (Special Class to help you burn off the extra calories)
  • 530 pm Cardio Flex

On Saturday, normally scheduled classes resume! Plus, there is a new 10 am TRX class : )

CAN is a word of POWER

YOU CAN!
You have signed up for the challenge. You have set the goal. To achieve, YOU MUST HAVE A PLAN. The next 30 days of your life are going to be busy. Schedule you work outs as if they are doctor's appointments. Mark the 20 times you will go to the gym on your calendar.

First identify the dates and times of the Air Yoga, FitWall, and TRX trainings you will attend. (you should sign up in advance at the front desk to reserve your spot for these classes) Next identify the 2 cycling classes, the 2 classes in the mind/body zone, and the 4 classes in the group X zone you will be attending. Finally, fill in the other 9 open gym visits. You can use these visits to go to more group trainings, classes, or just come in for a workout on the gym floor.

If you have yet to take advantage of your free personal training session that you are entitled to as a member, do it now! The training will count as one of your 20 days.

Tuesday, November 23rd is Day 1. Day one options include:

7:30 am Xtreme Climbs with Angie (Counts as FitWall) 30 minutes of FitWall to get your body burning fat followed by 30 minutes of cycling

8:00 am Pilates w/Cecilia (GROUP X ZONE)

5:00 pm Zumba w/Andy (Group X ZONE)

6:00 pm Cardio Flex w/ Patrick (GROUP X ZONE)

6:00 pm Upper Body TRX Blast w/Jacki

6:00 pm Yoga for Beginners (Mind/Body Zone)

7:00 pm Pilates (Mind/Body Zone)

7:00 pm Cycling w/ Jacki

If you can't make one of the classes/trainings, hit the gym for one of you 9 open gym days.
